Local Meal Deals is a crowd-sourced directory of pub and restaurant specials across Australia. Anyone can browse, share, or suggest changes to deals — think of it like a community bulletin board for meal bargains.

Use the filters at the top to narrow deals by:

• Day of the week — find deals available today or any specific day
• Meal type — breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, or drinks
• Search bar — find deals by venue name, dish, or keyword
• Map zoom — zoom in to see deals in a specific area

Deals appear as cards in the list and as markers on the map. Click a card or marker to see full details, then use the menu button to visit the venue's website or share the deal.

Tap the Share Deal button and fill in:

• Venue name — start typing for autocomplete suggestions
• Address — type an address and pick from suggestions to auto-fill the map pin
• Deal title — e.g. "2-for-1 pizza night"
• Description (optional) — extra details about the deal
• Deal link (optional) — link to the venue's website
• Meal type and day(s) — when the deal is available
• Price — tick "Prices from..." if it's a starting price

A pin will appear on the map — drag it to the correct location if needed. Once submitted, your deal goes into a review queue before going live.

Open a deal card and click the menu (three dots), then select Suggest edit. You can:

• Flag as ended — if the deal is no longer available
• Mark venue closed — if the business has shut down
• Report duplicate — if the same deal is listed twice
• Update fields — correct the price, dates, description, etc.

Your changes are submitted for review alongside the current deal for comparison.

After submitting, your deal enters a review queue. An admin checks each submission to make sure the details are accurate and the deal is genuine. This usually happens within a few days.

If approved, the deal goes live and will appear in the list and on the map for other users to find. If the details need fixing, an admin may adjust them before publishing.

You don't need an account — submissions are anonymous. There's no notification system yet, so check back on the site to see if your deal has been approved.

The map shows deal locations as markers. You can:

• Click or tap a marker to see the deal card
• Pan and zoom to explore deals in different areas
• On mobile, switch between List/Map and Map views using the bottom nav

When you first visit, the site may ask for your location to centre the map near you. This is optional — you can decline and still browse all deals.

Yes. Local Meal Deals does not require accounts or sign-ups. No personal data is stored — submissions are anonymous. Your location is only used to centre the map and is never sent to any third party.

If a deal is wrong or out of date, use the Suggest edit option on the deal card (see "How do I edit or remove a deal?" above).
